Makanec, Landscape with a lake, ca. 1920., oil on canvas, 39 cm x 59 cm
This painting had a few severe damages, such as punctures, tears, areas of the ground and paint loss, loose paint and some old nails sticking out of the stretcher that had to be taken out and replaced with new ones. After the consolidation of the damages the painting was taken off the stretcher frame.
Good cleaning of the whole painting and the restoration of the damaged areas was done. The painting needed strip lining and new stretcher frame as well for better support in times to come. Areas with paint loss were retouched and the painting was varnished on the request of the owner.
